Sometimes Before I go to Sleep I Drive on Maple Tree Way

L is visiting from California! She has been here for the past (almost) 2 days now.

Today as we were walking down the street to Burdick's she trailed a bit behind me and said, "I'm drafting you."

Success.

There's a Party in My Tummy

Does anyone else use the term "crunchy bone" to mean the cartilage on the ends of bones that's pretty tasty but not eaten in public due to qualms about social perception and acceptance?

Just checking.

The Date

Y took me out on a mystery date the other day. As I pondered what yummy eats I would get this time we walked through dark parking lots, past 10 dollar hair cutteries, and through shady underpasses.

Yes that does say "windows to an underground world"

Finally after cracking many "yup I'm taking you to a dollar store, yup I'm taking you to a supermarket, yup I'm taking you to a tattoo parlor (which actually would have been pretty novel)" jokes he finally announced that we had arrived.

Of course, I thought it was yet another joke. But this time we walked toward it. Closer, closer, an ice skating rink?

Oh mother of pearl.

Is it just me or are female skate rentals crappier than male ones?
My laces didn't have tape at the ends.

Took this shot while staying completely and utterly still....
you can't fall that way most of the time, you know!

Well, it turned out to be a good time despite my being frightened out of my wits. This happens every time. You'd think after ice skating what, four or five times now I would get the hang of it. Ah, no suck luck. I really do prefer winter sports where both of your legs are glued to one long plank rather than two mobile units that can get tangled up and are even harder to try to regain balance on.

After a really long lap at the iceskating rink we made our way over to Legal Seafoods.

Surf &Turf. That fat chunk of buttery goodness on top of the steak sure melted fast.
Spinach and garlic hear was much better than in the dhall.
Aka it was fully cooked.

I realized I have a penchant for grilled things.
That burnt taste? De-lightful.

With dinner nice and tucked away we decided to save proper desserts for Sunday night - the night of Yule Ball. Which, as I was shopping for, I happened upon...

Only THE most baller sweater ever.
The hood strings have cookie designs on them.
Dude. I want.

There was also a demo going on for a game called Just Dance for the wii, where you copy the moves of a dancer on a TV screen. It was entertaining at the very least.

How did I get so far off topic.

This does not bode well for my three pending essays. 8, 20, and 10 pages. Oh how I love double page standards - feel like you did more with less! Hooray!

Pro Chef

That's me. Look what I can make. (Takes lots of skill, ok)

Jealous yet, L? (This is the only time I will buy something from whole foods)
